DUSC joins Lowcountry Player Development League!

More information will follow shortly but be prepared to play on 8/29. Most importantly, the format of the Coastal PDL has been structured with input from clubs across our region working to improve the overall soccer experience for our younger players. At its core, the league is focused on delivering a consistent, strategic, and development-focused program where players can test their skills and compete in a meaningful way.

League participants can expect the Coastal PDL to be:

CONSISTENT

Every season will open with a Jamboree-style event in which all clubs participate
There will be 7 fixed game days and 1 weather makeup day each season, all scheduled in advance
All league games will be played on Saturdays between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm

STRATEGIC

Competition will be more evenly-matched (Directors of Coaching will work together across clubs to match levels of play)
Balanced travel schedule
Optimized game format aligned with best practices (three periods totaling 90 minutes of play each gameday, adopted from many youth professional leagues in Europe)
Improved gameday environment for players, parents, coaches, and referees

DEVELOPMENT-FOCUSED

Guaranteed playing time for all players
Longer periods of uninterrupted play for individual players
“Performance driven focus” vs. “outcome driven focus” game structure (development working alongside competition)
Meaningful competition used as an avenue for improved player development
