Soccer Philosophy & Methodology: Dorchester United Soccer
Club will use a modified, US Soccer, Play-Practice-Play model of
teaching. We believe that the game itself is the best teacher and kids
learn best through experience. We believe that player development is a
combination of cognitive ability, motor development, and psychosocial
behavior that when combined in a holistic approach, creates quality
soccer players. The key qualities of a DUSC player are:
- Reads and understands the game
- Takes initiative and is pro-active
- Demonstrates focus
- Executes with optimal technical abilities
- Executes with optimal physical abilities
- Takes responsibility and accountability for their own development and performance
- Develops a lifelong love of the game of soccer
We
believe that children learn and develop to their full potential through
game-like experiences, in an enjoyable environment, that supports
individual growth and team success.
